description Taylorsville Lake State Park is a favorite of both wranglers and anglers. The park sits on 3,050-acre Taylorsville Lake, where anglers can vie for bass, bluegill and crappie. The 1,200-acre park encompasses some of the most beautiful riding country around, not far away from Kentucky's biggest city.
drivingDirection From Louisville, take I-64 to the Gene Snyder Freeway south and KY 155 to Taylorsville; turn east on KY 44 and drive three miles and then proceed onto KY 248 and then turn right onto KY 3230. From Bluegrass Parkway, take the KY 55 exit to Taylorsville.
facilitiesDescription Camp out in Taylorsville Lakes RV campground, which has a central service building with laundry. Ten sites of the campground are set aside for horse camping. These sites have water and electricity and share the RV camp's laundry room.

importantInformation Please note: The maximum reservation window is 12 months in advance to the date. New Inventory is made available when the call center opens. There is a 1 night minimum stay during the week at all parks. There is a 2 night minimum stay on peak season weekends at all parks with the exception of the Kentucky Horse Park. The minimum stay on peak season weekends at the Kentucky Horse Park is 1 night. Customers may arrive on a Friday or Saturday and stay a minimum of two nights. Customer service is authorized to fill in any empty spaces caused by the 2-night weekend stay rule. The Equestrian sites are 46,47,48,49,50,51,52,53,54, and 55. You must bring a horse to camp on these sites. Please note the following: Longer minimum night stays are required at most campgrounds during holiday periods. Parks prohibits the importation firewood by campers from any state outside of Kentucky. This is in an effort to help prevent the introduction of the Emerald Ash Borer into the state. Firewood is available for sale in the state park campgrounds. http://parks.ky.gov/regulations/firewood.htm Golf carts are allowed in the campground by purchasing a permit at check-in. Permits are $25 for the week or $100 for the calendar year. Annual permits can be used at all Kentucky State Park campgrounds and the Kentucky Horse Park. Disabled guests are not required to purchase a permit if they display their disability hanging tag. Kentucky Campground sites can be occupied by a maximum of 8 occupants. Four (4) adults and children 16 and under are included in the base rate. Each additional adult is $5.00 per night will be collected upon arrival at the park.

recreationDescription The wonderful 16-mile trail system on this park is managed as multi-use trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. A day on the lake is a glorious opportunity at Taylorsville Lake. Rent a fishing boat and cast for bass, bluegill or crappie; schedule cruising time on one of the marinas pontoon boats, or launch your own from four launching ramps. The marina has open and covered slips, gas, food, and fishing equipment.
